You would want a full body cover to help protect the walls, awning(s), etc. from the elements. I wouldn't recommend leaving any windows cracked because you'd be giving easier access into the trailer for rodents or bugs. The Replacement Rung for Stromberg Carlson RV Exterior Ladder measures 13-1/4" overall length. The diameter of the hole is 1".
